2013 Manitoba CD/CED Gathering

On Friday, October 25, 2013, the Canadian CED Network, Manitoba chapter, will be putting on this year’s CD/CED Gathering at Garden City Collegiate, 711 Jefferson Ave. in Winnipeg. This is an annual event that attracts upward to 500 people. The event is free  but you need to register on the Canadian CED  Network website. I will be presenting a workshop “Social Enterprise and Social Economic Justice” at 10:30 AM . The content of the workshop will be based on my book “Inner City Renovation – How a Social Enterprise  Changes Lives and Communities”. 

Building it Right – Northern Aboriginal Forestry and Housing Conference

The conference sponsored by the Frontiers Foundation is taking place Oct 21-24 at Canad Inns , Polo Park, in Winnipeg. The conference has  five content streams: Employment and training in Housing and Forestry, Forestry. Housing Management, Housing Technology and Business  Models. On Tuesday October 22, I will be making a presentation in on social enterprise in the business model stream. Up to 300 people including community leaders and managers from housing, employment and training, social and economic development, academics, public service  and non profit groups are expected to participate.
