ICR Book shortlisted for the ANSER-ARES Best Book Award

“Inner City Renovation – How a Social Enterprise Changes Lives and Communities” was shortlisted for the ANSER-ARES Best Book Award. The award  by the Association for Nonprofit and Social Economy Research (ANSER) is given to the best book in the social economy sector in Canada published in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Video Series on Supported Social Enterprises

This video on supported social enterprises will be shot in Winnipeg, July 10 and 11. This will be the second in a series on social enterprise. The first video “What is a Supported Social Enterprise” can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82mZ2fQvEW0&feature=youtu.be

In general these social enterprises are supported by the parent nonprofit organization. The degree of support can vary and represent as much as 70% of the revenue of the social enterprise.

The videos are part of an educational program of the Social Economy Centre and the Centre for the Study of Education and Work at the University of Toronto.
